I have learned to understand homosexuality, because I use to hate them when I was little, because I did'nt understand it. Now my mom and father get divorsed, because my father comes out to my whole family and says he's gay. Painfully and confused I have gotten over it,and now im trying to understand my dads sexuality.Anyway homosexuality may be a sin,but isn't lying, stealing, cheating, ect. Sins too? I think the world would be a better place if we all just took a seat and just talked to each other about this and that, and understand one another. That will never happen, and I know the world is not perfect, but it seems to be more violence and hatred then their is love and an understanding for one another. I know that some people will never take the chance to even understand a fragment of what im trying to say,but thats alright because at the end of the day im the one who is the lover and not the hater.

Good words, man. there are more "sinners" in the world, and there are worse things a person could do than become gay. Look at all the murders going around the world today! you dont hear "oh you can'y do that! repent now fr that is a sin!" all over the place; and yet when someone mentions that they know someone who is gay or are gay themselves you hear all of these prayers for them and "OMG, you're going to Hell! repent!" everywhere you turn.
People just need to learn that homosexuality isn't the worst thing in the world and there are more terrible things going on. Some people just need to sit down and talk about things.
Other people honestly need to be drowned because they're so stupid...
There is so much BAD going on in the world... so why do people focus on who people love? Love is GOOD. so quit worrying about the GOOD things and think about the BAD.

Thank you for at least trying to understand people different from you. There are so many who won't even do that. And I applaud your efforts.

I don't consider homosexuality a sin, and don't really believe that it's much of a choice. Although I don't know from any personal experience and could be wrong, I think that even if it was a sin it wouldn't be nearly as bad as some other sins that actually involve hurting people.

I'm happy for what this situation has done for you and agree that it has helped you a lot in ways that are not so readily avaliable to others. I understand where your father may be coming from and his need for secrecy and I am glad that it is not something I will be doing as I thought I'd have to do when I was younger. There will always be people who will oppose and raise their noses to this kind of way of life. Interacial couples had it difficult and are still looked down upon by many; many more than we choose to accept so I guess maybe in time the same will be true of homosexuality tolerated but still frowned upon would have to be better than what we have. . .

I don't know how old you are, but I applaud you, many have hated homosexuals for the wrong reason. You have been exposed to the family experience of ones parent coming out. You have gone through some tough times, but have come out the better for it. You see the person for who they are not whom they love or want to be with. My hat goes off to you. You are so correct as to the sins that are commit ed. We do not question them as we do homosexuality. Why? Because those sins have been with us forever homosexuality has been around as long as they have but has not been in the same category. Homosexuality was considered the norm in many civilization in the past but for some unforeseen reason was determined not the norm. But now has been given recognition for being a relationship that has many good and explanatory qualities. We have to continue to develop a openness to what is right for society as compared to what is a sin.

I disagree when people put those answers and said "they were born with homosexuality." I think its just another excuse someone lied and told them to make them feel good about their selves. Anyway I was looking through the bible the other day and it said "homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of god" Which means homosexuals are all going to hell. So that means homosexuality is a sin.

I'm glad you've become more understanding, but I don't agree that homosexuality is a sin.
I know that not everyone in this world is going to get along with each other, but if everyone was alike, wouldn't this world be boring?
the real sins are ignorance, hatred and intolerance.

You're completely right about people hating homosexual and transgendered people because they don't understand them. I am of the belief that God made everyone the way they are for a reason, and I find it hard to believe that a person is a sinner because they are attracted to a member of the same sex. That doesn't mean they are a bad person because of it. My sister in law is gay, and she's one of the nicest, most caring people I know. I find it hard to believe that she should be punished simply because she perfers women. In my opinion, sinners are people that lie, cheat, steal, commit violent crimes, etc., not good hearted, kind people that just happen to be gay.

Good question and good commentary after it. I believe as you do. Some people make out homosexuality as the worst sin around but the others you mentioned are just as bad and probalbly more harmful to others in society. Jesus Christ never refered to homosexuality in the New Testament so it can't be worse than neglecting the poor in society. He mentions that a few thousand times in the New Testament. Jesus Christ preached love, not hate.

I am glad that there are people like yourself that stop and at least try to understand that there is different lifestyles and that at the end of day that we are all people that live and breath the same.

Yes, I think that it is funny too that all these people that get on here and preach about how we live in sin and little do they even accept their Own sins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am proud to be me and be a Lesbian and for all that look down upon me I ask you to look in the mirror and look at yourself.

Love your Dad unconditionally. He is you Dad no matter what!
