Sorry to hear about your troubles. It must be painful.
Do you own the home yourself? If so ask him to leave. If he doesn't call the police and have him removed.
Are you renting? Is your name the only name on the lease? If so, ask him to leave. If he doesn't call the police and ask him to leave.
If his name is on the lease, you will have to work with the landlord to get a release for your boyfriend to sign that will remove him from the lease. Then, you can ask him to leave. If he doesn't, ...

The only way to do this with no drama is to simply talk to him about it and set a date for him to be out by. Unfortunately unless he is willing to do this there will be drama. I know one girl who actually paid the guy to leave. Told him here is a thousand dollars and you can leave peacefully right now or be moved out the hard way and not see a dime. Sometimes it is easier to just pay them off rather than fight them in court. In this case after 8 years the courts might see him as being a partner in the house and actually give him half.

End the lease then move all your stuff out when he is not around. When he gets home he won't be able to sleep there! Or you could call the apartment complex (or your house) and get the locks changed. Sorry but there is going to be drama when you live with someone that you are not married to.

Give him an eviction notice and leave a stack of boxes for him to pack his crap. Then you go out somewhere and tell him to be gone by the time you get back. He probably knows he's been pressing his luck and he knows the end of your rope is coming, he won't be surprised, he's only continuing to do it because you haven't done anything about it yet.

Vote Democratic this fall! Oh, I'm sorry wrong dead beat.
You could try telling this guy how his actions make you feel. This is a good way to state your position without giving him something to argue with. Let him know how things are, he hasn't wanted to pull his weight, and you need someone that is willing to contribute. Give him a date, and stick to it.

First you need to let him know that since he can't pay on these bills with me, he need to be looking for shelter somewhere else. If he was living on his own, he would have to pay bills. Let him know you're not his mother, but you also need to realize that you may have spoiled him to where he don't think you're serious. If all else fail, call that number (911). Take care
