I saw it in a movie, I think. It's a hollow cylinder about 4 inches long. The guy stuck his index finger in one end of this cylinder, and someone else stuck their finger in the other end, and somehow their fingers got stuck in the little cylinder. I think there's some kind of special way to make the cylinder release, too. Does anyone know what it's called?

These are called chinese finger traps. The trick to escaping the finger trap is to push the ends of the trap inward, toward the middle, thereby enlarging the openings. Made of bamboo.

chinese something... i forgot , but you push the fingers toward each other instead of pulling apart and they come off.

chinese hand cuffs or finger cuffs. I don't mean to denigrate the chinese- but that is the only name i have ever heard for them.

CHINESE HANDCUFFS YOU PUSH IT TOGETHER AND PULL REAL FAST TO RELEASE SOME TIMES IT CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT

When I was a kid we called them Chinese Handcuffs...I am not sure why we called them that though.
