Some numbers are perfect squares. For example 4, 9, 16 and 25. The square root of these numbers is a whole number. 2x2=4, 3x3=9, 4x4=16 and 5x5=25. When a number is not a perfect square as in the case of 125 and 288, look for a factor of the number that is a perfect square. For example, 125=25x5.
v^25x5=5v^5, that is 5 times the square root of five. 288=144x2.
144 is perfect square whose square root is 12. Thus v^144x2=12v^2, that is 12 times the square root of 2. Keep in mind that the square root of a number can be positive or negative. +5x+5=25 and -5x-5=25. In these cases then the answers would actually be: positive or negative 5 times the square root of 5, and positive or negative 12 times the square root of 12. The square root of 5 is approximately 2.236 and the square root of 2 is approximately 1.414. If you had to you could actually do the multiplication to come up with a single number answer. Sorry for the length, but I hope it helps.
