Hi guys!

My husband and I just bought a new tv yesterday. We have Comcast digital cable (with the Motorola cable box) and the remote control that came with the box was programmed with our old tv to turn it on and off and control volume. Apparently in order to use that remote with our new tv, we have to type in a code that will then re-program it accordingly. The only problem is, I follow the instructions that came with the Comcast remote, and nothing happens! It says to hit the "tv" button, hold down the "set up" button and wait until the "tv" button blinks 2 times, then the box will appear where I need to type in the new code. It never brings the code box up though!

I tried to call Comcast quite a few times and I kept getting the "instead of waiting, type in your phone number, and we will call you back within 2-3 minutes". Yea, its been a long time and they haven't called. So if any of you could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! :)

There is no box that pops up. After the light blinks just enter the code and after entering the code it will blink a few more times (it should work now) If it doesnt work try another code, sometimes there are multiple codes for one tv brand try them untill one works

Sorry, I ran into the same problem last month when I got a new TV.. I tried the code in the Comcast guide for the new TV and nothing! I have to use the TV remote to turn it off. If you do find out, please let me know!

comcast.com/Media/.../documents/comcast_on_demand_remote_manual.pdf

url for the universal remote programming guide. just because you have a rca tv (for example) it doesn't necessarily mean it actually was manufactured by rca. many of the cheaper brands have vendor x manufacture the tv for them and slap a sticker/label on them to state they are a vendor y tv. common practice.verify on the back of the set the manufacturer ( there is a sticker/label with the model # and other specifics) and enter every code available for that manufacturer set until you find one that works. defilitely a pain , but unfortunately the only way, without resorting to scrolling through every code in the device until you find one that works. good luck

We have a lot of problems with Comcast cable and internet, were just stuck in a contract. Our big problems with it are a ton of pop ups and "On Demand" problems.
