Football(soccer)- Over half of the Americas #1 sport is football(soccer), all of South America play football(soccer) and the U.S. has the MLS so about 70% has football(soccer) being the #1 sport.

They took a poll with some website a couple months ago that said it was
1. NFL
2. MLB
3. College football
i dont remember but NBA was all the way down at like 6

football - people love violence in sports which is why football and boxing are so popular, not to mention ultimate fighting - I think people appreicate the skills needed to play basebal and basketball, but football is truly a mans sport and people get excited about the looming death in the air hehehe

My favorite is baseball, but I think it has been surpassed as America's passtime by NFL football.
