Why is there unallocated space?
Is it ok to not have any unallocated?

It is ok but it's a waste, you should reallocate it.
A very good program to manage hard drives (and partitions) is Partion Magic.

Yes, it is OK to have unallocated space.

There's unallocated space on your hard disk because, when your partitions were created, they were partitioned using custom size...

a small ammount is okay, but a large ammount, more than 100 mb is a waste because you cant use it, if it is more than one gigabyte you could put your windoze paging file on it, to use less space on your primary partition

or like was said before you could expand your primary partition to fill it, there are various progams to do this, I think there is a linux based bootable cd called gparted that is free. and should work
