I want to use the Road Runner (cartoon) as part of a logo for a new company I am starting. How do I do this?

Its the ROAD RUNNER cartoon from Looney Toons. Owned by Time Warner (the WB)

yes, you will have to contact the parent company get get licensing permission to use the image.

But I suggest getting another image - I don't think they'll approve it for any amount of money for another company to use as a logo.

Was the picture published?

If so, contact the publisher (their contact details normally are listed on the first or last page).
Send a letter/email and ask for a copyright for this picture – tell them the nature of you business, approximate income, etc. Sometimes you can get it for free, but most of them will charge you for the copyright (don’t know about the business logo, but copyright for the architectural photo for a book usually costs about US$100-200)

Publisher should give you the written statement that they give you the copyright to use their image in your company logo and for all associated company publications (website, letterhead, cards, reports, etc.) for unlimited time (make sure it’s unlimited time!)

If image wasn’t not published, just contact the artist and get the same paper from her.

You need to get ahold of them and explain what you will be using it in and get a written release .

Ask the person who has it copyrighted if you can use it.
