IFlorida by a very large margin over anything I have seen in New York. I'm sure there are nice communities in New York, but Florida just has everything. I think there are areas in Florida where you can still buy a house for a reasonable price, which is another big plus in addition to the very comfortable weather.

Been to Florida, don't like the heat and humidity. Never been to New York but would love to visit up state. My favorite is Colorado, been there a few times and love it. I live in Illinois, lots of corn and bean fields.

FLORIDA, all the way!! I am a Native New Yorker and lived there 25 years of my life.... I've only been in Florida for 4.5 years now and everytime I go back to visit NY, I can't WAIT to get back home to FL.

NY is crowded, dirty, smelly and the people are bitter about it and it shows...
FL gives you room to breathe, the AIR is breathable, and people smile and say 'hello' when you look at them, not scowl and say 'what are YOU looking at?' PLUS, the weather is always warm in FL... ;-)

If you're single I say experience NY. If you have kids, FL is better.

If you're looking to visit, I think "Tourist NY" is better than "Tourist FL", but only cuz NY is full of so much history.
