Could you double check that problem once more? You can only add and subtract square roots that are identical or can be simplified to be identical and then you just add the coefficients (the numbers in front of the sqrt).

For example, 3 sqrt12 + 2sqrt 3.
Since the sqrt12 = 2sqrt3, the new problem is:
6sqrt3 + 2sqrt3 = 8sqrt3
