At first I though that was a good ideal. But, Now. I'm thinking of it this way. It gives the rich more power. They have most, of it now. The rich get richer. They already buy votes and, Then what?.. You going to let them buy their way. to the Senate seat? Why not send all people that live in mobile home parks .To another country. NOT !!!! Let old people on SS. starve and no heat no air.die? Not!! some of the old people on SS, is also on Welfare. That's the only way they can eat!!! They paid their share. And, look most of them can't buy food. Pay Utility's. Because, they don't get nothing to live on. And, they worked all their lives. DON'T take the rights also. They should be able to vote for someone. That will change laws to help them..

I'm not a liberal, of course I'm not mad either. Even if you have been on welfare for years you have the right to vote. Even those that have been on welfare for generations have the right. That is just the way it is. These people typically vote liberal, so their checks keep on coming and the system never gets fixed.

Great idea -- if you're a recipient of government largesse, you, the mendicant, should not be part of the selection process.

As long as you also disallow voting by medicare and social security recipients -- those aren't "insurance" programs, they are taxes and welfare payments.

If you disallow all three, then the government has a better chance of defending itself -- cuz eventually the benefit receipients won't even vote to spend enough to prevent war. "It's happened before," and it isn't purely the welfare recipients who get so short-sighted.

well... you're not considering the fact that this would promote welfare... if the government didn't want poor people to vote, then they could make welfare easier to get, so they could not vote... and also make laws that push people to get on welfare

sets up a system for manipulation...

I think they are Americans and have the right to vote, and should.
Hamilton did say you should be careful not to let the people who do not participate in improving the economy hold the purse strings of the economy because they will vote themselves money.

Welfare is a big word what kind of welfare are you talking about. Using credit is a form of welfare, anytime someone helps us out is a form of welfare.

This isn't a question.
So if there is another great depression and massive amounts of people become unemployed they can no longer vote?
Thankfully we have people in office that can think as well as write to make bills.

So a retired person who recieves social security should not be allowed to vote? Or Military familys who loose their loved ones in war and now must seek assistance should loose their rights? Or people who become disable? There are many reasons people seek out assistance. People should not all be grouped into one catagorie.

Yes, Why not! Just because you on Welfare don't make you not human!! I thing more people should understand the Welfare Program before they judge the people on it.

The librials are really mad... we liberals, however, are fine with your rant, as long as you include businesses that skip out on taxes and include corporate welfare in your estimation.
