This may sound flippant but go to a strip club some night and study the dancers. Maybe you can talk to them a bit and ask for some tips and advice. Some of these ladies have been dancing for a few years and know what works, and they might enjoy passing on a few tips... as long as you don't steal a paying customer!

Check the classifieds in the News and Observer, if there's no listing try putting an ad in the classifieds telling what your looking for. I live in Raleigh, but I don't know anyone who does those kinds of lessons, but I hope this was helpful anyway.

Sweaty, I don't think people are taught how to dance on a pole. You just kind of make it up as you go along. It helps to be flexible, flips, bends, splits because it will make the routine more enjoyable.

Carmen Electras workout is dosnt have poles but they have lots of hip action, so buy that and do it on a pole.. al you have to do is rub against it and hump it!!
