I got this "Friend" and she tells me something and when I go to someone else and ask them they always say she lying. So let me tell you what happened... She always brags claiming that she's rich and she got this and got that. Then she said that my friend's boyfriend knows her brother. I asked him and he said that her brother never looked rich, and he dressed bummy. Was it necessary to lie?

Because they are "so called friends". It sounds like she is having issues with self esteem.That is why she is lying about uneccesary things.She feels the need to impress people,and if lying is what she feels will get her attention,that's what she will do.It's really sad.Try to talk to her about it and let her know that you and everyone else knows she is lying.Tell her that she is making a fool of herself by doind it,and to stop it or you won't be able to remain friends with her.Let her know that it makes her look desperate,and mentally unstable.

Some people lie because they think it will make them appear better to those that they want to impress. She may or may not be lying - her brother could dress bummy, but her family could still be rich. There are a lot of people who have money, but don't dress in Armani every day. If you want to see if she's telling the truth then start hanging out with her more - go to her house, see what she has, etc. If she was lying then just tell her you enjoy being her friend but that she doesn't need to lie in order for you to like to hang out with her.

It's a hard lesson to learn sometimes, but you'll find out that you will not have but a few or 1 true friend in you're life. Remember this true friends NEVER LIE TO YOU ABOUT ANYTHING! Big or small a LIE IS A LIE.

just because he dresses bummy doesn't mean hes not rich, maybe hes into the grunge look? i dont know.
if she did lie to you, it was probably because shes insecure about herself, so she created this lie in order to get people to like her better. thats just stupid though, the truth will come out eventually and she will end up looking stupid.

well maybe she's embaressed to admit that she's not as welthy as the rest of you guys, but if thats not the case no friend should ever lie and maybe if they do, then there not really friends

if you really think that you can some day by any chance find a good friend i recommend to quit...there ain't any so that's why i never tried to be a good friend coz i know if i would be good they're not gonna be good so Y i gotta be good

people always lie, it is a fact of life and if they do they are probably not your friends. i think your friend has self esteem issues, she lies to feel good. learn from her and don't do as her
