Ad-Aware is a very well respected and ad/spyware free program, that is used by millions. Just make sure that you download the genuine Ad-Aware from the developers website.

You suffer from a little confusion about the difference between Adware and AdAware (notice spelling).
Adware is a form of spyware that put popup ads on your computer. Since the popups are in a program, your popup blocker cannot block them.
AdAware is an anti-spyware program. AdAware will detect many different Spyware programs but is considered about the best for removing Adware from your computer.
So, Adware is bad, AdAware is good.

I think Ad-Aware is great. I never have popups. I'm pretty sure it doesn't track your interests or any such thing. As far as I can tell, it just blocks the spyware that it recognizes.

The free version of adaware does NOT protect against any spyware. It scans for and removes spyware that is already on your system. For protection against spyware, you can use spyware blaster, defender, or spybot if you want free software solutions. check out http://360.yahoo.com/wektech for links to free antispyware, antivirus, and other free programs. I am tired of retyping the links so just put them all on my blog.

Adware is good for what it does but you need other software. DO NOT download anything from MS. They are notorious for using downloads to insert trojans of their own. Ask anyone who is in the know about WGA and the trojans there that contact MS almost on a daily basis

hi, adware is a disgusting and infamous kind of virus, perhaps you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

It works for Ad ware. I use Spybot search & Destroy for spywear and they both work well to keep my pc spiffy clean.
