Just start writing. My mom is a writing coach for me. Start writing about why you can't think of anything to write, then write whatever else comes into your mind. maybe it will be worthwile... maybe not. But you will be able to write.

For poetry, it's based on personal experience and my imagination. Nature does too or my feelings for the day. When my grandfather died, he inspired me to write angel/religious poetry.
For nonfiction, it's usually what's on my mind, whether it's current events or sports, or health trends, or something that's interesting.
For fiction, mostly my imagination like things I've never done (or can't do) before. For example, skydiving. It's interesting to research and learn about it. But I'm afraid of heights. So I made my character skydive to get over her fear of feights. In another one, it's a fear of water/ice, due to an ice skating incident. I can't ice skate, roller blade or roller skate.
For novels, it's usually something that's never done before. Like my new novel I'm writing, I don't think there's a novel before about the Art Theft Division at the FBI, dealing with a "cat and mouse" game of serial art thefts. Find something unique and write about it.
Like I've been told, write what you don't know. And if you don't know it, research! That's what I do. I don't know law or the FBI or art. But I research and write about it. Good luck! Look around you and see something out there. Write from your heart.

Any strong emotion...when I need to get myself in the mood to write, I'll either play a song that makes me think of a specific emotion (love or love lost typically), or if you have the ability to, just get out of town. I am fortunate enough to have a place "up north" (in the woods in Wisconsin) where I can get away from all the things that disrupt my thoughts when I'm home.

Rage, anger, love, and boredom.
Right now, even you have nothing to write, just pick up the pen and start writing about what is going on the past few weeks or so.
Once you start writing, something will come up. then let it rip.

i've got been thinking lots approximately this recently. i'm no longer a Christian, yet I do see how some symbolic truths must be interpreted interior the pages of the Bible. i'm no longer able to communicate for the Koran yet i'm able to declare a similar for some Upanishads and the Bhagavadgita. it sort of feels to me that if there's a divine being - which, for my section, i think of is nearer than maximum folk suspect - each and every ingredient is in some way "stimulated" by utilising it, I relish the type of fail-risk-free "discrepancies" in those works supply. in line with possibility it somewhat is the Divine's way of training us to no longer carry those works actually or dogmatically, that we would desire to consistently mine what's proper and leave the rest to serve its very own purpose.

When I write (which I haven't done in such a long time) I think about either people I love or people that piss me off. One of my favorite songs that I wrote is about a girl that dicked around with me. I think she knows it about her.
