Are the powerful still pulling the strings with elected officials, (Puppets). If you dont want strings attached, dont run for office.

I doubt this government listens to very much advice from her or Prince Charles, who is nonetheless keen to offer his advice. Do you think she approved of banning fox-hunting or expelling hereditary peers from parliament? Heck, she couldn't even get the government to replace her yacht.

Well, I'll assume that you mean the UK royals. In theory, they do not run anything anymore. In practice, however, HM the Queen is very integral to government. All of HM Prime Ministers have said that their Tuesday meetings with HM are of great importance. She is, apparently, very impartial, wise, informed, and has an uncanny knack for remembering the past and how it affects the situation at hand.
