Either take it to the post office, or deposit it in your bank account.

First, call 1-800-ASK USPS to verify that it's good (there are a TON of counterfeit money orders out there). If so, then just about any bank will cash it for you, but some require that you have an account. You can also take it to some post offices (but not all of them offer the cashing service). Last ditch resort would be a check cashing company (but you'll have to fork over a percentage).

You can cash it at the post office with proper id. For some reason they need 2 ids. You might need to try your main post office. Some smaller post offices won’t be able to cash it because they can not verify the money order.

You take it to the post office to cash in case it has been altered or is fake.

Two ways: if is US Post office, just take it to them with two forms of ID. If you have a bank account, you can deposit it in there just like a check.

You either need to go to a bank account with your name on it, or go to a check cashing place, (but they charge a fee).
