Unisom (doxylamine) and vitamin B6, taken together before bed, saved my life. I had terrible morning sickness all during first pregnancy, and now all through this one.

REALLY! Talk to your doctor about it. My doc raves about it, and used it herself when she was pregnant.

I am sooooo sorry! I went through the same thing... every minute of every day until I was 12 weeks was the same. Nothing worked surefire, it was kind of hit and miss. I also tried those sea bands, which helped a little, but not what I was hoping for. Sometimes sucking on jolly ranchers helped, but other times, nothing worked. I also found out that some women with severe morning sickness can be low on vitamin B6. My mom had to get injections of the vitamin in the hospital when she was pregnant with me, and then I was more likely to have the same problem. Ask your doctor, and then take some B6 supplements. About the only thing I could keep down was grilled cheese sandwiches (for some odd reason). I think it has to do with the specific nutrients that your body needs. That's why you get the weird cravings later in pregnancy. Again, sorry you're miserable!

Man, I used to get it from the time I woke up every fifteen minutes until noon and then I was nauseous all day thereafter. They tried giving me the anti-nausea stuff and everything. I couldn't do crackers (still can't eat Saltines to this day) or anything. The only thing that I found that made me feel even marginally better was eggrolls from a Chinese restaurant. It's probably going to be different for you. I'm sorry. *virtual hug* I know how it is to cry when you see the toilet, just because you don't want to throw up again. Good luck.

I had horrible morning sickness for my entire pregnancy - it doesn't always go away by 12 or 20 weeks! The only thing that worked for me was Diclectin, and I had to take two every night before bed and another two in the morning. I also had to quit my job because I was either throwing up all the time or I was foggy from the medication. Talk to your Dr. if it's that bad - there are safe meds that can help. If all else fails, take Gravol when it gets really bad - my Dr. told me that if it was that bad, better I take the Gravol and keep food down than go hungry.

I tried all those things too. Everyone is different with what works, but tic tacs helped and just remember, it will pass. Morning sickness is a "good sign" of your bab'ys health. You dont have too much longer until this morning stuff is gone. Hang in there. That is nothing compared to what is to come! eek--
Enjoy the pregnancy for it will go very fast and one day you will look at your child and say wow where did the years go? I would do it all over again what you are going through now--
Hope you feel better and remember you are almost past this stage of it. Hope this helps--

I just reached the 3 month mark and have suffered with the same problems.... Sick from the moment my eyes opened to the moment they closed.

The best advice I was given was to keep sipping warm water all day long -- warm, not hot, but room-temperature. It seemed to help a little to keep hydrated. Also, believe or not, fruit seemed to settle my stomach a little. When the nausea began to get really bad, and I began to feel terrible, I'd grab a cold piece of fruit... Seemed to ease some of the nausea.

I wish you all the best with it though.... Hope you find something that works for you!

The ONLY thing that worked for me is ginger. REALLY. Go get yourself some ginger tea, or best yet, get a fresh ginger root, grate some and pour some hot water over it. Youy can add sweetner, but if you are like me, I didnt care, I just wanted to feel better. All the other old wives tales did nothing for me. Drink FLAT gingerale, get some ginger snaps, nibble on them. After you eat, dont get right up, sit for a few minutes.. I really hope you feel better, I know it really stinks. Mine was terrible.... You can also talk to your doctor, mine offered me a B-Natal sucker that helped too...And if you throw up too much they do have meds for it....But ginger worked best for me

Morning Sickness:

Eat frequent small meals, every 2 or 3 hours, rather than 3 large meals daily.
Avoid strong odors (carry a handkerchief with a few drops of lemon oil to breathe into if a certain smell bothers you.).
Get up slowly and do not lie down immediately after eating.
Eat dry crackers 15 minutes before getting up in the morning.
Eat more fruits and complex carbohydrates such as potatoes, crackers and pasta. Sensitive stomachs find those foods easier to tolerate.
Eat high protein foods as they help fight nausea.
Do not skip meals, allowing your stomach to become "empty".
Drink fluids ½ hour before a meal or ½ hour after a meal. Do not drink during your meal.
Try eating cold food instead of hot (cold food does not smell as much).
Try bland foods, as opposed to spicy foods.
Try to avoid fatty foods, which take longer to digest, particularly during pregnancy, when your stomach takes longer to empty.
If odors bother you while cooking, try to have good ventilation in the kitchen or ask for help in food preparation.
NVP may worsen when you get tired. Try to get more rest. Take naps during the day if possible.
Try taking your prenatal vitamins later in the day or discuss possible alternatives, such as children's chewables.
Try not to get overheated as it seems to agitate morning sickness.
Talk to your doctor about forgoing the iron supplements as they can be hard for your stomach to deal with.

Finally, if your symptoms persist, consult your healthcare provider. Talk to your healthcare provider about your symptoms and how they affect you. He or she can prescribe a safe and effective medication to treat your nausea and/or vomiting and to prevent further complications.

i had that my entire 10 months of pregnancy. protein really does help your stomach. don't Drink too much water but just enough (8 glasses a day) and bland meals. i know it is miserable but most women turn around this sickness corner at 3 months. if you really feel like death, ask your dr. about zofran. it is a cancer patient anti-nausea drug that is AMAZING!! it helps soo much! good luck! you will forget this sick feeling once you have that bundle of joy. don't worry! :-)

i myself never had morning sickness (no i'm not bragging!) but i had a friend that had terrible ms & chewing gum helped her. something with the saliva (decreased it or increased it??) i don't think there was a specific brand, just any gum.

meds for nausea can be expensive but if u have insurance, it might be well worth it.
