Some of THE side effects of taking the pill are weight gain, spotting, bloating, headaches and nausea but they usually resolve after a couple of months. The hormones in the Pill throw off your natural balance for a while but they should even out after a month or two.

I started the Pill when I was 15 because I had horrendous cramps and irregular periods. My parents knew that I was on it, of course and that was all I was taking it for for several more years. If you are suffering from cramps or irregularity it's an acceptable therapy. If you are thinking of having sex you need to be locked in your bedroom until you mature.

Firstly, the pill can also be used to regulate an irregular period. Some 12 and 13 year old girls may have gotten their periods and docters will prescribe it as a medication.

Secondly, we only tell people to ask there parents so that you can develop an open and honest rapport with your parents. I know its not easy because I couldn't talk to my mother about anything. But you could start with these simple questions.

First, I think its ok for teens to ask questions. As far as the pill goes alot of these parents now a days with these teens choose to put there child on bc cause they are fast. I know alot of my sisters friends who are 13 are having sex and pregnancy scares. So its better for them to be safe.

What they dont know is that yes it helps prevent pregnancy. But not diseases and these kids are catching things and not even telling there partners because there embarrased. Teens need to slow it down before they wear themselves out before there time.

Stay you way you are don't have sex until your ready. Not when you "think" you are. So ppl accept you.

(I agree also it is to regular some girls periods. )

My old neighbors daughter was on the pill at 11. The reason for her was because it helped to regulate her periods and eased the cramping. She had awful periods and was stuck in bed with them. The pills helped to make them more normal and less painful. I know that was her reason, but for other parents they don't want to deal with a grandchild at that age so they just let their children take them. Hope this answered your question.
