I really appreciate all the answers to all my questions, but if you'll notice I've gotten more answers to the "painful" question(s) than just the curious ones. Here's my question this time: Do people on "Yahoo Answers" enjoy my misery or are they genuinely trying to help?

Yes alot of people do thrive on other's misery, sad as it is that's the truth. But I'm speaking for myself now- No I answer serious questions from personal experience that I've been through myself, or that I've saw other people go through and I give honest answers and opinions. The way I look at it if I can spare anyone else pain from the wicked people on this earth trying to make other people's lives miserable, that's what I try to do.

There is a movement in this country, what with all the reality shows on TV nowadays, its evermore present today than ever in history, Whether is on TV or on Yahoo or whatever you have, Some people do thrive on misery to others and also thrive on controversy, Causing too much drama, some people are living for this kinda thing. AND ill tell you this much, most of these people that do this are men. I have a boss that loves to stir it up and make it stink more than ever because he can do it, its an everyday occurance today. What can you do? I have no real clue except to just stay away from those kind of people.
