Why exactly did Rage Against the Machine break up?

Question

One of my favorite bands, but I've never known exactly why Zach left. I heard rumor that it was because one of the members voted differently from the rest of the band. Any truth behind this?

Their lyrics were actually really smart once you realized exactly what in the hell they were saying, and it made good work out music too. Just my reasoning for why I liked them.

I hadn't heard that. I read one time that Zach just felt that there was nowhere that Rage could go; they'd done everything they thought they could do. Material wasn't coming as easy as it once was...it just ran its course, I guess. Thats what I've always thought.

I think Zach just started protesting more and spending more time away from the rest of the band, and the band wanted to keep making music.

I always heard it was beacuse Zach wasn't comfortable writing lyrics. If you look at his songs, it kinda makes sense. He basically just said the same thing over and over again on each of his songs.

I dont wana sound mean but how the hell do u listten to them, to me there is just too much screaming and noise, ill never understand it, but i suppose every1 is differnt, y they broke up is a mystery to me too, but not the end of my world
