I guess the fact that they are famous and can have almost anyone they want can be a major temptation. Plus when two stars marry they probably spend a lot of time working apart - often in different parts of the world. And generally I think distance does NOT make the heart grow fonder! Plus with fans fawning all over stars, I'll bet a lot of stars get used to not having to compromise, which is important in a marriage.

Over half of American marriages end in divorce, most at the 5 year mark. So, in reality, Hollywood marriages are on par, but also more publisized. Further, many of these stars fall in love with a co-star. They are taken hold not by the person, but the character they play. Too often, they forget that they are actors; and usually good at imitating an emotion. Then take into account how public their lives are. One misstep, and it's in the Star by the end of the week. One rumor, and the NE is all over you for months! It would be like all your family and friends constantly nit-picking at your relationship and telling you what to do or how to do it. After a while, it doesn't feel like a relationship. After a while, even the strongest of people get tired of fighting and reasoning with people on something that is supposed to be personal. Marriage is supposed to be a life-time commitment, but it is a life-time job too. Both my parents are on marriage number three. They aren't bad or flighty, they just got too tired of justifying marriages they thought were fine, but other people saw as "train wrecks".
