must sound beautiful. For example the word twilight sounds better than evening (atleast so it seems to me!!!!)

Everyone around seems to be giving out synonyms to 'distressed'. Like one person has suggested, 'disquietude' seems a very good option.
You can try 'solicitude' too.

well "distressed mind" (as a phase) does not bring pleasant thoughts to one's mind, does it?
howevr you can try chocky or psycho. in hindi a word that comes close to being "beautiful" is peeda.
