Have verizon dsl, When first connected everything was fine. After about 2 hrs. it stopped working. I called tech. he said to change to usb cable. When I did I everything worked. He told me I would have to have new drivers installed? I dont know what he is talking about. Before I take it to a shop I want to know if I can do it myself.

This is an ethernet cable.

It is slightly bigger than a phone cord. It plugs into your computer.

If it works, you'll see a little green light where it plugs in at your computer.

However, the tech said you need a driver so I'm not sure why you need to know what the ethernet cable is. You can install a driver by yourself. The driver you need probably came with an installation CD. I don't know from your information what driver you need though. Can you repost your question with more details? If you can tell us as many details as you can we might be able to help you more.

If not, try going to the manufacturers web site and locate the driver you need. Once you have it, it's a really easy install.

One other thing you might try is to go get all the Microsoft Hardware and Critical Updates from here.

as said previously is a network connectivity cable, can be used for internet tansports or just computer-to-computer net communications, it is very fast and reliable. You have to have an Ethernet port in your computer to plug it in and the connections come mostly from a router, coblemodem, red/LAN connections, etc.
you just take the cable and plug it in the port. if you have Windows your computer has network statistics and XP usually has a little icon on the taksbar with 2 computers if its got a X over it is not plugged in right or u dont have connectivity. thats not all, u also have to have a gateway and/or DNS adresss. If your computer is older than a 98 model, u probably will need drivers, or ur comp dosent reconise it.If u have a mac give me ur comps info and contact me to my e-mail if u need more info: betomonterrosa2@yahoo.com

This cable is for networking purposes. It is connected to the network card in the computer to share files, internet connection or even printers.
