OMG you're 15! You have such a big head on your shoulders and I really felt for you when you wrote your last sentence. I'm only 30 myself but have two young sons and I'm worried for their future too. Everything you say is just exactly how I would write it. We need more teenagers like you who care about this country's future to help change things before it's too late. Of course we all need to stand up for ourselves, young or old and demonstrate outside no. 10. I'm not joking either. If we don't make a stand the government will continue taking us for a ride. My husband wants go for a promotion so we can have a better standard of living but he's afraid to because if he does he'll pay 40% tax and be worse off while people like my neighbour doesn't do a day's work and complains she only gets £100 per week (on top of free rent, free council tax etc etc). Where's the fairness? P.S. Can you please please please try for Prime Minister. This country needs you!!!

Actually sentencing for serious crime is on the up. Immigration is not out of control. This is a media concoction.
Labour has been trying to get people off benefits, and there has always been a problem with people claiming benefits but I think Labour has been dealing with this admirably.
Violent crime is on the increase, sadly. I don't blame Labour for this. Handily brings me to the drugs issue you mention. More people taking drugs is a good thing - except in the case of heroin and crack. More people using drugs will force the Government to re-assess the ridicolous prohibition that simply does not work and isn't right. If the drugs were legal much of the violent crime would disappear, and the issue would be much more manageable.
OAPs pensions are not being lowered. They're going up. Pensioners always want more.
This country is not in a state of anarchy. I think you are lucky to live under a Labour government at your age. I lived under a Conservative government when I was your age - and my school was falling apart, there were lower police numbers and people being thrown out onto the streets from failed mortgage repayments caused by uncontrollable inflation.
Labour are addressing the Global Warming issue, unfortunately for us this means the nuclear option (the only other credible alternative would be rationing of elctrical power whilst sustainable methods are set-up). I hope to see a long-term commitment to sustainable power which is always hinted at but never commited to.
Many of the problems you mention have always been around, at least in my life-time. We are nowhere near a state of anarchy, we're actually very lucky in what we have. Look at Afghanistan, for example, that is much closer to anarchy than here.
The problem we have with British democracy is it is always a choice between Labour or Conservatives. I have a lot of major issues with the way Labour have run the country, but I can't vote against them as if the Tories get in I fear for my children's future.

Oh boy you got this 1 right. I'm 38 years old and remember being 19. I had my 1st child, got married, lived in a council flat. Man what did I do with myself, still I went to work in a factory took home £90 per week I paid the bills in full fed & clothed my family and went to the pub regurlarly. Never claimed any benefits to top up my income.
Now 2nd marriage on incapacity benefits due to ill health. If I went to work I would have to take home £300 a week just to pay the bills. Find me a unskilled factory job thats gonna do that.
If you can see whats happened to me that answers some of what you say, the goverments I,ve seen have destoyed the backbone of this country. In my opinion the reason for this is immigration, the immigrants will do a weeks work for what I earned 19 years ago and then they think are rich compared to what they would get in their own country.

Yeah your 110% right, My mum use to say charity starts in the home, Why help others when you are no better off than them. I look at our country and am very disappointed with it so many homeless people on the streets yet we are letting people in to the country and they are taking the homes we could give to our homeless, Our law is corrupt and needs some real discipline and some very good sentences, I think if you take a life you should do life and that means life and no TV and luxuries in your room, and pedo's I'd make sure that all mum's were out on the street and ready and then I would release the pedo into the middle of them see how he would like to be abused.

You make some very good points here. I'm not too sure that violence is on the increase, I think that it's better publicised and more widely reported, but the rest of your concerns seem pretty sound. I find the ridiculous sentencing, appalling treatment of the elderly (especially war veterans) and immigration particularly abhorrent. I know exactly how you feel, worrying about your future. Once I am qualified I will probably move to France or Spain where I can work less hours for more money, be treated better and able to buy a house. There's no way I could do that here.
You're right. It's all f**ked!

Don't worry, it's not as bad as you think. These problems have been with us for a long time now, some have always been with us, it's just the way this country works. It is possible to live out your life and mostly be unaffected by these problems and most of the things governments do, the rest you'll just have to learn how to live with like the rest of us, and make use of your vote when you get it. :-)

That is happening in most of the Western World - the UK in many ways is much better off than it used to be. I remember the days when the UK was fighting in a war in Northern Ireland and terrorist bombings in London were common place. Things in you country right now are pretty calm.

You must be too young to remember what it was like under the Tories. Believe it or not things are much better now. Its the right wing press that wants to get the Tories back in power that make you think things are so bad.
Check out the facts on things which the government can control and you may be surprised.

Blooming good question and some cracking points made.
My advise to you would be to flee this pit of a country whilst you can, go anywhere, just escape before you end up getting trapped in the rat-run of life.
