Capt. Henry Morgan, but he was only a pirate to the Spanish. To the English he was the greatest hero of the seas. Like so very few pirates of his day, he died in a warm bed surrounded by loved ones. But that was in the late 1600's, I have no idea who was colonel in 1574.
