First, find a way to pay all your bills on time for about 6 months. You will see your credit score go up a few points. If you can, try a debt consolidation program to get your credit card payments down to one manageable monthly payment. Paying all your bills on time can help quite a bit.

Pay a little more than required on installment loan payments. Always make payments on time. Keep credit balances low compared to the credit limit. Limit the amount of times your credit gets pulled. Consult a credit counselor.

I feel ur pain... my credit is so bad rite now. But if u have any outstanding debts, that u can afford to pay rite now, pay them & ask to get a rapid re-score. Also, some companies, like Capital One don't report ur credit limit, call them & ask them to start reporting it to the 3 credit bureaus, in addition to ur highest balance on the card.

Get a copy of ur report & make sure there are no mistakes on it, if u can, call ur credit companies & ask them if they'll raise ur limits. B/c a higher credit limit can boost ur credit to debt ratio & make it lower & you'll appear better to lenders.

5th 3rd bank has a great credit rebuilding program. Make an appointment with someone to talk to them about it. It has helped a lot of people I know.

get your credit report, and then put answers in it to every negative thing in there (try to make amends and pay off anyone you still owe, and then put that in your credit report as well). .

and then, obviously pay off your bills on time every month (including your credit cards), and try to completely get out of debt as soon as possible.
