Superman, of course. Batman has no super powers whatsoever.

With the powers given to Superman by the comics the only thing that can beat him his Kryptonite. Batman (Bruce Wayne) being as rich as he is could most likely acquire Kryptonite and therefore kill Superman. So after looking at the situation, and comparing resources Batman is better. Plus he is far more realistic, given he has no special powers and invents all his gadgets on his own.

Batman. He's smarter and he has that whole badboy, dark 'n' broody, mysterious thing going on. Also, even though he doesn't have powers, he still manages to hold his own. Also, if you follow the DC comics history, he has repeatedly managed to kick Superman's @ss, both in the comic books and on the animated series. Batman looks like he would be more fun in the sack. Superman looks too tight-@ssed and stuffy.

Batman is more realistic (he can be hurt) and that makes him more my favorite. It is hard to root for someone who pretty much can't lose like Superman. He may be weak to kryptonite, but to my understanding humans are too; so his archnemisis Lex Luthor was limited to how he could use it. And in fact to my understanding one of the storylines was that Lex gets cancer from carrying kryptonite around looking for a chance to get Superman, which basically means all Superman really has to do is wait him out and let the disease get him, which is kind of lame.
Batman on the other hand has weaknesses like any other human, which requires him to think faster and work harder. He has to overcome things, and that make him the better choice for me to root for.

From a standpoint of powers and abilities Superman hands down...
I think that Batman is the greatest of all time... He has no super power he isn't a divine creature cast to the earth he isn't a fortunate victim of radiation or chemical exposure...
He is a human being who has tapped the potential of al men educated himself and drove himself to be the best he can be in pursuit of a single goal: to prevent injustice in a corrupt world...
He has trained to be the ultimate warrior on a psychological and physical level and be the best he can be in true superhero fashion....
BATMAN!!!

The big red S is THE man, but I'd rather be Batman!
Bats is self-trained, educated and financed and he's a human being driven to the peak of performance by his personal circumstances.
And he's one scary vigilante too!
