2.7 unweighted I guess. What would be the best thing to do now. Apply to universities, market myself like that? I would like to study abroad but not even sure where to begin. I don't even know anything about college jargon like tuition. Anyone could give me a heads up?

Why not try going to a community/junior college. It is a nice transition to a 4 year college/university from high school; especially if you are not quite sure what you want to do yet.
2.7 is not too shabby, a B - or a C +. Good luck!

Keep your head up. The fact is you still have plenty of opportunities to get a good college education. You don't even need to try to find the most competitive college you can get into. If you go to a state school (your state) the tuition will be very low, but if you go to small private institution, chances are you will be paying $30,000 or $40,000 a year. Go to a school that you think you could do very well at. Work hard to be among the top in your class. That way, you can transfer out to another college after a year or two, and your high school grades won't mean anything. Also, if you think you might be interested in architecture or engineering, apply to Cooper Union after going to college for at least one semester. Tuition there is free.

Hope I could help!!
Good luck

Its nothing to be worried much about in my opinion because u don't have to go directly to a major university from high school...it would be helpful if you go to a community college for one or two years and can get transferred to any college of ur choice...it will help u get a good foundation for ur college education. The college GPA is much more important than the high school GPA. And ur GPA should not block u frm applying for colleges...u should apply to all colleges that u like...they look not just ur GPA, ur extra-curricular activities and SAT scores, ur background etc etc...but wait to do this till u attend a few years at a community college tht is the best choice u can make....good luck and work hard :D

Let me tell you something. Your GPA means nothing. I am a perfect example. I had a strong GPA in high school and college and it means nothing. Employers do not care about your GPA. I will give you a life experience hint. Go to a community college. Don't waste your money on an expensive university. You will be strapped with a whole lot of student loan debt. Believe me. I graduated 10 years ago. And if you are unable to get into any college, don't sweat it. There are many alternatives out there. Being self employed is the way to go.

You should go to college and market yourself like that. You are going to have to marked yourself if you ever plan to go through the interview process and get a job so applying for college will be like the prereq. When you research colleges (and you should research all the ones that interest you), check to see if they have programs for studying abroad. Lots of colleges do, it might even help you decide where you want to go. Remember to ask questions, ask everyone that you come in to contact with any question that you don't know the answer to, this will help you learn the jargon. Ask lots of questions. And yes there are dumb questions but ask them anyway it is the only way to learn anything. Happy college shopping. Oh one last piece of advice, Colleges are run like business, they are trying to be profitable, they have a service to provide and they need consumers to provide those services too, don't expect them to bend over backwards for you but remember they have something to sell also. That is why they spend money on marketing.

Start out at a community college. I barely graduated from high school. I took basics at a community college for two years (which is WAY cheaper than big universities), I beefed up my grades into honors, and then got scholarships into the university of my choice. Saved me money all the way around.

Go to your local bookstore today and buy a copy of Loren Pope's great little book, "Colleges that Change Lives". Be sure to read the stuff in the front of Pope's book, not just the reviews of schools. You won't get in Stanford or Harvard, but don't worry, there's plenty of schools out there for you. Don't get discouraged. (Although it's alwfully late to expect to start college this autumn.) Don't give up.

Geez, you're supposed to do all that your junior year of high school. If you don't know what you want to do career-wise, just pick a university that's in a city you think you'd like to live in that's pretty decent and has extra-curricular things you're interested in, like sports or music or whatever. Just look at their websites for interested students and it will tell you everything you need to know about applying, and they'll tell you what GPA's they take. You definitely have to go to college these days, to make anything at all of your life. And don't go to any silly junior college or trade school, because they aren't any easier and no one will take you seriously after.

get into a community college and start taking a lot of different classes to get a feel for what you might want to do

you should research what 4 year schools have the best programs for what you think you want to do so then you can think about where you want to transfer

starting at a community will give you an opportunity to figure things out and will be cheaper - plus you can start getting your prerequistes out of the way

I think you should apply to a university because at the end of the year school year for me I received a 2.4 to average everything out and still got accepted to some colleges, trade schools, and technican schools.
