Take the logarithm of both sides: Then you have x log 7 < log 28 (the logarithm preserves the normal ordering of the numbers). Then just divide by log 7 to get x < log 28/log 7, which is your answer.

Alway remeber: "get X on a side by itself".

So we have 7 to the power of X. How do you get ride of the whole power thing?

What would you do if you had 7 to the power of 3?

That's 7x7x7.

Look at the example in you text book.

One you simplify the equation you'll have the answer. Don't let the "less than" mess you up.

The answer is 1.

If seven is raised to the second power, it would equal 49, right?
Therefore, the equation would not be true.
