It's a do-it-yourself kind a job that can be difficult because both sides really need to match. Go to autobody paint or Parts store. I found a website that sells that barbed-wire style pinstripe.
Looks Really Cool!

Use masking tape to either side of the area you'd like to paint. Make sure the tape is very firmly pressed to the surface especially where it meets the future stripe.

Away from the 'stripe' area, use newspaper to mask off surrounding areas of bodywork and WINDOWS. This will avoid accidental painting of other bits!

Try to find an area which you could practice on first. Use the spray nozzle from around 7 to 11 inches from the surface you are painting. (Aerosol sprays can be perfectly adequate).

Try to cover the stripe area with a thin layer of paint to avoid the possibility of it 'standing proud' of the surrounding surface.

Remove the tape after the paint is completely dry.

For a really professional finish, you could then apply laquer over the complete area which will 'smooth out' any 'proudness'.

Warning: Choose your colour carefully!
Do not polish for several days afterwards. Good luck!

P.S. The cheap method is simply to use coloured tape which others here have advised. The trouble with this is that it tends to peel after a while and usually looks VERY 'tacky'. And because it relies upon adhesive to stay in place it can also move when it gets hot so that your lovely straight line becomes 'wiggly'!

Just go to an Auto Shop such as NAPA and buy the stripe tape and put it on

The new car dealers hire this service, like windshield installation, there are folks who will come to your place and do it whereever your car is parked like at work. Makes a good birthday gift.
