When I was in elementary school, we were shown a movie about how America would have been affected if [then] the Soviet Union had won the cold war. One scene had where a teacher was trying to convince a young student that God did not exist by telling him, "that if you work hard, God would not give you a puppy, but I might."
Does anyone know the name of this movie & where it can be purchased? And please DO NOT just say amazon or some other movie site, if you cannot provide the link to this exact movie.

Sorry "Hope & Glory" is the wrong war. "Red Dawn" would not have been it because this was considered an educational film that would have come out about 1980, or that is when I had seen it, anyway.

I don't know if this is the movie you're talking about, but I remember seeing it when I was a kid (early 80's) - it was about Russians invading the US and taking over and a bunch of teenagers who fought back. It was called "Red Dawn" and I think it starred Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen. Hope that helps.

Yes I think the name of the movie was Red Dawn and you should be able to get it at Tower Records.
