I'll never forget the day President Kennedy was killed. I was at school, in the 4th grade. They made the announcement and told us we all needed to go home. I remember feeling so upset as I walked home. I'll never forget it.

I wasn't born yet. My mom has told me where she was. She was in elementary class and the teacher was called to the door. When she walked back in, she was crying. They didn't tell her then but she found out when she got home.
9/11? I had walked into my 9th grade speech class. The first plane had already hit, but I had been in PE so we didn't see it. I thought they had been watching a movie. The teacher said it was real and I just had to stop. Tears started welling up and I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. I just kept thinking it was a bad movie or dream or something. I couldn't believe it. Then the second plane hit and we all were in shock. We were just sitting there, eyes fixed, crying. It's one of those days I will never forget.

I can remember that day just like it was yesterday. Although I was only 6 months old, I clearly remember my parents watching the new TV (it was a new RCA! - B&W TV with all the bells! - It had A NEW POWER CHORD on it!) with intent-focus and saying "Oh no! - It was bound to happen, what with all the international problems of the time!"
My Grandfather had yet to return from work and was sure to be very distraught.

I was in 8th grade English class, and the news came over the public address system. At first the news people just said he was shot, and they didn't know how bad it was. Our teacher told us to pray if we wanted to, and he went and stared out the window. Then the whole school was taken into the auditorium where they put on two televisions, and we eventually heard that he had died.

Sorry I wasn't born yet but I've watched the reports & read all the theories about it. It's made for great history but if you remember it, at the time did you think there was more to it than first reported?

I was in the 6th grade. The school secretary came in and told the teacher that she heard on the radio that the President had been shot. We didn't do much the rest of the day.

I should have been in school, but for some reason I was not. I was at my Grandmothers house. I must have been sick and she was watching me for my parents who were out. I was hiding under the dining room table. From what? I don't remember. I was just six. My relatives (female) were weeping and cursing in two languages. (English and Sicilian) Male relatives were at work are called to work. Cops and Firemen.

It's hard for me to remember things that happened 13 years before I was born. Maybe if I try real hard. Nope. Actually, I have been to the site where it happened in Dallas, and that was just surreal. It's one thing to see in pictures, but to stand right there and know, this is where it happened. Just kind of gives you chills.
