My wife and I fight.

Constantly.

All the time.

She said to me this morning, "I only want happiness for you, and if that means you leaving me and having a happy life for yourself, you should do it".

Now I know that is not what she truely means.

Ladies........what does that mean in "Woman Talk".

Thanks.

It means she doesn't know what else to say, she thinks your not happy with her and that she isn't enough for you. SHe's really feeling bad and is about ready to give up trying.

She's saying that she really cares for you and hope that you care for her too. She doesn't mean it when she said you should leave her to be happy- oh believe me she will be devastated if you do. She only say that to illustrate to you how much she loves you but at the same time she feels like a failure that she can not keep you happy... she's probably questioning herself and wonder if she's good enough for you.

She is trying to tell you that she is also tired of fighting and feels the same way you do about your relationship. But she didn't want to be the first one to say something. She might already be interested in someone else. And her telling you to basically go ahead and leave and be happy is her way of saying she also wants the same for herself. That way you end up looking like a jerk and she looks like the innocent one.

It means she is just as sick of the fighting as you are. She doesn't know what else to do or to say to stop the fighting. So in thinking things through, over and over again. She has come to the conclusion that enough is enough. The fighting doesn't look like it is going to stop, so it's best to throw in the towel. Let him be happy and move on with his life. I know exactly how she feels. My spouce and I fight all the time, everyday. I'm so sick of it, I'm ready to throw in the towel. I'ts just too too stressful, all the fighting. It's best that atleast one of you are happy and move on with your life. I'm not saying your the blame, so please don't take it that way. All I'm saying is, she has given up.

When I say that, it's because I give up and don't want to fight with my husband anymore. But I really do mean it, and chances are, so does she. Stop fighting and start talking. Really talking. From the heart, not the head. And listen to what she tells you. It means she loves you.
