increase the ram to max on a compaq presario notebook,it has 504 but i hear i can up it to get better speed

Just by compatible ram, there's a little cover at the bottom of most notebooks that has slots for ram - just check out that you have one before you buy more ram because some notebooks have their ram on the motherboard only and don't allow for expansion.

get a Mac... lol. You may be able to take it to Best Buy or somewhere like that and if you have the space, they can install some extra ram in to your laptop. But seriously, if you are looking for good speed, get a mac, I have 3 and they have never crashed, froze, you dont have to uninstall any of your programs, just drag them to the trash and they are gone. And, best of all, no known viruses for a Mac... When you click on a program with a PC, it has to go through 32 processes before it opens your program, and with a Mac, you click a program and it only goes through 4 processes to open your program... Not too much more expensive either... dude, seriously it is worth it.

when you switch on your notebook it should say press f? in this option you can tweak the speed up or down hope this helps just cant remember what f key it is.
