The first song I learned to play was Dylan's "Knocking on Heavens Door". Then I dove into the Johnny Cash songbook for easy guitar. Lovely. So many songs with only a few chords and a good, steady rhythm.
Bottomline- decide what you would like to play, then buy a book for "easy guitar" with those songs in it. Hours of entertainment guaranteed.

Go to a music store that you trust, or perhaps even a good one that specializes in guitar. Ask there about a method for guitar that emphasizes the music you want (rock, classical, folk, jazz, etc). There are many. If you want to be a guitarist, you also need to go to melbay.com. People may make fun of Mel Bay, but he has a catalog of books, chord books, methods, song books, etc for every kind of guitar music. Do yourself a favor and ignore those who make fun of Mel Bay. It is a great site, and the catalog has a lot in it

AC/DC, JudasPreist, Metallica, Poison, Black Sabbath.....These are all easy to learn. Start out with the Sabbath first. I've been a bassist for over 20 years. I started on guitar though.
Peace.
