How long will mail take to be delivered between one state (IL) if i am sending invitations? If I deliver my mail to the post office by 5 pm today, then when will it arrive at its destination?

It completely depends. Some people will probably get theirs tomorrow or the next day but I would expect atleast a week to be on the safe side.

Before 5 the mail is picked up so it would take 2 to 3 days depending on location.

My experience is that general/ground mail usually takes from 3-10 days(out of state) depending on the destination and time of year. I would take this into account for certain individuals who may live a few states away. Be sure that they have plenty of time to make their plans. E-vites (electronic invitations/announcements) are becoming more and more popular if you have e-mail addresses for your guests.
