Alright, what cheapskate tips can you share with me? Not the stoo-pid ones like splitting the 2-ply tissue to make one roll.

I don't have a computer. I use the local library, however that takes gas to go except when I'm on my way home.

Buy large eggs... Recipes most often call for large eggs ,and this size is a good value. The color of the shell doesn't effect the quality.
Make your own oil spray...Buy a small spray bottle and fill it with vegetable or olive oil. It's cheaper than buying spray cans.
Go with a shopping list... Know what you're going to buy when you enter the store and leave with only those items.
Learn sales patterns...Stores often repeat sales on a predictable schedule. For example, a store may offer a "buy one, get one free" special on your favorite ice cream for one week each month. Pay attention to the patterns, and you'll never pay full price.
Ask your doctor about generics, when a prescription is required.
Buy store brand non prescriptive drugs....
For longer lasting panty hose...wet them thoroughly and wring them out, then put them in a plastic bag in the freezer. When you know you are going to need them hang them so they can thaw and dry.
Get a programmable thermostat...if everyone is out of the house during the day, invest in an automatic thermostat timer that raises the temperature about 1 hour before you get up, lowers it 5 to 10 degrees during the hours when the house is empty, and turns it back up just before you get home.
When possible, buy kids clothes one size larger..
Take advantage of the library..

1. Clip coupons. Find the store that offers double coupons.
2. If it's not on sale, don't buy it.
3. Donate your unused items so you can clean up AND get a tax deduction.
4. Organize. If you can find it, you won't have to buy another.
5. Make extra for dinner and then freeze the leftovers. It takes less time, energy and resources to cook 1 large meal for several days than it does to make 3 smaller meals.
6. Rethink your menu. Have breakfast for dinner once in a while.....it's much cheaper.
7. Plan your trips so that you complete 4 or 5 errands in one outing. You'll save on gas and time.
8. Get inexpensive desktop publishing software. By the time you design and print 10 of your homemade birthday cards, you'll save about $30.00. Shop for specialty paper at the dollar store and you'll save even more.
9. Let the kids cook dinner instead of eating out. They'll be more likely to eat the "fruits of their labor" and have as much fun as dining out.
10. Lose the brand loyalty....you may be able to find sales on paper products and stock up.
11. Thoughtful homemade gifts are always appreciated. With careful planning and shopping, you can give great gifts without breaking your budget.
