I mean, maybe not Kelly Clarkson, but teenage boys only like Green Day and stuff like that, and the older ones like the olde's. Why is that? My brothers make fun of who I listen to.

WHAT!!!! I absolutely love chick bands and chick singers. They bring a whole new element to the music. Here's a small list of the chick bands that I like:
Lacuna Coil, Nightwish (my fav), Lullacry, Sinergy, Walls of Jericho, Joydrop, Guano Apes, Drain STH, Kittie... I love chicks in rock/metal music... my list could go on forever

Guys like Heart, Lita Ford, Garbage, Curve, the Von Bondies, Joan Jett, Devics ect. Some of the recent pop chicks are boring and all sound the same. I doubt people can tell the difference between Paris Hilton and Britney Spear music. R&B could be all done by one group, because who would really know the difference.

I dont mind Garbage or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but the kind of stuff 12 year old girls listen to, like Hillary Duff, Avril Lavigne sucks. Its the group that is targeted by their sales. So bands such as Fall Out Boy, or All American Rejects i hate, because it is not my type of music.

interesting that u said this, but i think the opposite about me. i am a guy and kelly clarkson is at the top of my list in the best singers in the market(i even have her poster in my room), and i like pink and recently rihanna has come real good. its also not like that i dont like male stars, i like green day, eminem.......but mainly its a matter of ur own choice.
PS: i am an indian who has been in australia for 2 yrs and its like i have fallen in love with kelly clarkson(i am totally mad about her).

mixing continuously ends badly, somebody will start up relationship the female interior the band and then something will pissed off and because they fancied her aswell and blablabla, so its greater helpful to be all boy and all female bands imo
