What happens if I just put coolant in without adding water? I didn't really follow the directions because I didn't think to read them until after I saw the "premixed" coolant at the store. Have I completely messed up my car by putting straight coolant in?

you should never put straight anti-freeze in your car. It should be mixed 50/50 with water. BUt if you added straight coolant then just go to a quick lube center and have them suck it out and refill with the proper mixure. Straight anti-freeze doesnt pretect very well it needs to have water in it to get the required temp protection

It should be mixed 50/50 with water, preferably distilled water. You will be ok if you just topped off your coolant tank under the hood. The auto stores have a device that will tell you exactly what state you coolant is in and they are very cheap. Good luck

If you have added small amount of coolant that was supposed to be mixed with water before adding, it shouldn't harm your car, next time just add the same amount of water. If you want to be sure, visit your mechanic, they have special tools that can test the quality of the coolant in your car.

it can make a mess, straight or a high concentrate of antifreeze can and will gel in the colder months. depending on where your at 50/50 is the rule of thumb but if it gets really cold, i.e. sustained temps below -20 degrees F then 60/40 would be a better choice but before you do anything, take it by a shop they will check it for you and let you know whats acceptable in your area

No you did not mess up your. But it needs to be drained and then mix it properly. Sometimes on the radiator cap it will tell you the mix ratio. My husband runs 50/50 all year round.
