Because i just got my belly button pierced and i have a flight booked for next week. Will it set off the metal dector.

You shouldn't have a problem I have 14 piercings but Ive never set off a metal detector in an airport before. The hand detectors pick them up at close range but the ones you walk through don't usually go off in my experience. If it does you can show your belly no probs. Id have to strip naked which would probably put them off doing it a second time.

I've gone through metal detectors with my belly button piercing and it's never been a problem. Although expect anything the way things are going with airport security at the moment.

Don't worry about it. I'm a security guard and the amount of people that panic it will set off the alarm is high. They don't I have seven piercing and I walk through the amd's all day, i have never set it off. So you've got nothing to worry about.

It's surgical steel. And it's possible you'll set off the detector - but it's not a problem! After the last security alerts the underwire in my bra was setting them off - and as a frequent flyer it was most embarrassing!!

Don't worry about setting off any metal dectectors =)
I have quite a few piercings and it never sets them off...actually I was speaking to my piercer about it and he has TONS and never sets them off - he says that they are looking for bad guys, not liberal folks =)

They are stainless steel, but the metal detctor should be fine. I usually am fine with earrings, metal studs on jeans and underwiring in my underwear.

i wouldn't have thought so, i mean i have earings and that was ok when i went through, i would think a belly ring or bar is the same.
