i believe it is a homogeneous mixture...... an example homogenous would be sugar in water and an example of a heterogenous would be sand in water.....the sand is unable to combine with the water to appear uniform unlike the sugar which is able to dissolve in the water

Do you know what those two terms mean? Homogeneous means all mixed together. For example no variations in density or the amount of components in different parts of the solution. A bucket of Salt water would be homogeneous.

Heterogeneous would be where the components separate out. For example oil and water.

Now it is up to you to decide what rainwater is.

Yes, good answer and comparison. Another comparison for heterogeneous is a bucket with sand, rocks and water. If you can physical (not chemically) separate the mixture it's heterogeneous.
