He wants to train you to find the holes! So you dislocated your shoulder, but if it was a game the desk would have been a person from the opposite team. And they could have taken the football (FUMBLE!) or even hurt you worse!

If you want to go on in football (hey you're a star, right?) then you're going to have to start listening to the coach no matter if it sounds stupid to you. Develop yourself into a better player by going through the coach's routines.

You might be a coach one day yourself, and I'm sure you'd be pissed if the players questioned your methods.

Suck it up and do it! Get better at it! And good luck in the game!

Dude, you ran into a desk that was just sitting there. If you can't avoid that, how the hell are you going to get around a 250 lb Linebacker coming at you full speed? It sucks that you dislocated your shoulder, but imagine what would have happened if you would have been hit by the defense. You may have completely lost your shoulder.
By the way...your question is really difficult to read. Put the football down and learn how to write/type in full sentences with correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. That's what you are in school for anyway. If you get beat up by desks during practice, I don't have much faith in your football career...so get busy learning.

I don't think it sounds anymore dangerous then 1 on 3's. Trying to run through three defensemen, sounds a little more painful then desk. I know that there are several coaches that make players do those @ the H.S. level.

I had a friend who used to play football and his coach would make 2 players run full speed into each other. I question some of this crazy stuff since head injuries can happen. Maybe the profressional teams do this sort of thing, but is it really necessary? I would ask the coach is it worth your star player getting hurt again?

Sounds crazy as hell. Why is he using desk !!! Has he ever heard of tackle dummies ???

I don't know your coach, but he sounds like he might not know how to get players ready for the season and he took somebodies dumb advise to use desk in workout drills.

I'm a QB too... and I've never heard of anything like that.

I love football as much as anybody, but I wonder about some things coaches make their players do in the name of toughness and winning.

Probably time to check in with your school's athletic director. If you seek him/her out and say you want it confidential, they must do it that way. Then you can ask if this is OK or not. "Suicides" as an activity where you run back and forth and touch a line or hit a pad are OK but this desk thing is a mess.

May I politely suggest that you consider getting a tutor as well (don't want to make you mad but if you are as good as you say you are you might want to go to college, right?)

Some coaches are into that dumb macho bulls***. Is your coach's name Rumsfeldt or Bush? Conservative thinking that they have made up their minds in 1929 and can not and will not change.

If you can't handle a desk, how do you expect to handle the first defensive lineman that hits you. There will be a lot of those. And if you can't handle it, then maybe football isn't your thing.
