I use all my old parts with a new motherboard all the time. You will have to install the new motherboard drivers. If the system does not boot to a normal system then, you may have to boot to the safe mode and install the new motherboard drivers in the safe mode.

Dont worry about the power supply they have just added som new features you Hard drive Cdrw, Floppy sould be ok you may have to revert / cut(or buy adapter) for the power to the HDD CDRW etc. If they are flat 4in line ok if they loock like a block of four Check with your Voltmeter BLACK Should be negative
RED is usally +5Volt and YELLOW +12Volt. By the way I had to cut the 4extra on my Power supply because I have the 20 pin. some Supplys come with a either or cable. Never ever open the Power Supply box and when working (pluggin in out etc) Remove your MAINs Power PLug.
Take care

properly for one, you're fortunate you probably did no longer circulate a static cost and kill your device. maximum possibly, the Dell wouldnt be waiting to sign up a brand newpersistent engaged on the floppy IDE interface jointly because it relatively is working, for this reason inflicting it to crash down. The bios would decide to reset the configuration documents for all your drives and word irq and computer values to each device returned for it to artwork. i'm guessing it began returned as notwithstanding you pressed purged the CMOS to reset the BIOS documents. It does sound strange nevertheless it unexpectedly stopped and then only began working returned when you reset your CMOS. i'm guessing your IDE Cable became into plugged into your floppypersistent once you bunged the capability twine in?
