I have a Motorola V360 from T-Mobile and I switched carriers, so I'm trying to find out how to get it unlocked so I can use it with my new carrier. I know you can purchase software online, but I would rather take it into a store and have someone do it for me.

If you switched carrier less than a month ago - call up your old carrier, ask them to unlock it. They will send you the code and instructions.

don't do it online, you cannot guarrantee anything... i suggest you go to a dealer store and ask if they unlock the phones. dealers do not unlock phones, they send it to a person who unlocks the phones. unlocking is illegal, so you will never see whoever that person is (only dealers). it usually takes 1-2 days to get the phone back.

if you want to use the v360 for your new carrier -- i suggest you sign up for a contract with the free phone that they will offer you. in that case, you can use the v360, and if it breaks, you can use the free phone. if you have the phone unlocked, warranty does not cover it. so if it breaks, there's nothing anybody can do. versus if you have a free phone which the warranty will cover for 1 year. and let's say you survive the contract using your v360 without any problems, you can sell the free phone and make money.

Have you tried some of the independent cell phone dealers? Some of them have a great deal of knowledge about how to do stuff like that. - Rich
