hillary? no... she has not made it a point to bring the troops home so she wont get votes until then.
howie dean? maybe... if he'd keep the BYAAA crap down until he wins.
obama? maybe... he's a little quiet and i am very interested in what he has to say. i cant wait to hear more from him.

This may have absolutely no bearing on anything, but I have noticed something in presidential races - look at the names. Anytime anyone runs who has even a slightly "foreign" name, it just doesn't happen for them. America seems to have no problem electing these people and these names to high offices, just never the highest. It may be coincidence, it may be that folks in the back woods who don't know the issues just vote for a name that "sounds right" to them, I don't know.
And do you notice that it's never the republicans who put up candidates with those names? Isn't that odd, too? It's not that these family names haven't been a large part of America's history; aren't just as American as any one of us, but they don't get elected. They aren't "foreign" just because of their family's name.
It's just something I've noticed, and thought to mention when reading some of the responses here - Obama? Biden? Makes me wonder if they have a chance no matter how great a candidate they might be.
I hope to see this proven false within my lifetime. I don't think the mainstream voting public is ready for a woman president yet, although the idea has got to be sinking in below conscious levels, and I am frankly scared to death of Hillary Clinton - I don't think she's got anybody's best interests in mind except her own.
This should be interesting to watch. Just an opinion and an observation.

Obama would be great, but as another has already posted, he's too young in the political field.
Obama isn't as quiet as you seem to think. He's done a lot both in the US Senate as well as in the Illinios State Senate. He's very outspoken and quite a good writer. He has two books out at the moment, I really suggest reading one or both to find out what he's all about.
I've met Barack on several occassions and have been very impressed with his vision and passion for people.

Barack Obama. We need a fresh insight to world affairs, plus he does great things for Illinois. So what if he's young? So was Kennedy, and he was one of the greatest. Too bad he's not considering running... maybe in 2012.

hillary all the way, she can fundraise so much more than anyone else that it would be a no contest, lets just hope she runs. More so though, lets hope that our voting system changes so we actually get who we vote for.
