For Steel, Superman, Ride of Steel @ Six Flags New England. It's an amazing coaster where you spend more time out of your seat than in it. The ride flies and when you get back to the station, you're on an incredible high. It's one of the few rides, where I've seen the whole train of people just gushing from the awesome ride!

For wood, I'd say Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce. It's a fun terrain coaster that not only takes advantage of the landscape and terrain, but packs in a kick *** ride, especially at night!

I would agree with Millennium Force at Cedar Point, but also at Cedar Point there is the Top Thrill Dragster. That ride goes straight up, does two and a half spin going up, get your picture taken at the top, and does two and a half spins going back down, all at 120 or more miles an hour. That is def the best rollar coaster in the whole USA baby! Oh yea, and it's the tallest rollar coaster in the USA!

The Beast at Paramount's King's Island -- it's my absolute favorite -- here's a great description:

One of the worlds most famous wooden coasters, and still the longest woodie after 25 years. With a length of 7400 feet, this coaster sprawls out across 35 acres of thickly wooded terrain. With two lift hills, a speed of 65 mph, and a 540 degree helix finale that is unmatched, this coaster remains at the top of the heap among wooden coasters. This is an absolute can't miss ride for anyone who sets foot in the park. (http://www.themeparkinsider.com/reviews/paramount's_kings_island/the_beast/)

I love it, because it doesn't beat you to death, the hills take your breath away -- the track goes through woodsy area, and it seems to last longer than a lot of other coasters.

The yellow wooden coaster at Dorney Park (it used to be called the Zephyr but I think they gave it a new name at some point).
