A lot of you are Christians. I'm one too, but am a Democrat, so don't blast me here. But I would like to know a question from you.

Look at Jesus Teachings, to love one another. That the greatest gift is love.
Can you see Jesus taking up weapons against other people.
Can you see Jesus being more concerned about taxes than helping the lower class?
Can you see Jesus actually going into a country with military force?
Can you see Jesus actually cutting programs to help the poor people while cutting taxes for the rich?
Can you see Jesus doing any of these things?

If not, how do you justify that Bush is the right choice for president?

Just to prevent terrorism?
That wasn't the issue in the first election!

In response to the person who called me Sweetheart. I hardly think of any President as being Jesus. But I do believe that as Christians we are to emulate Christ. And I just cannot see our President showing those principles and because of that, I cannot vote for him.

Because he is god and god outranks jesus.

I have heard answers to these questions before and they are pretty weak. You are not going to find any answers.

You don't want to crawl around in these people's heads. Trust me, i have tried and now i have nightmares. If you are not bound by logic, then anything makes sense i guess.

The phrase "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", a quotation from Exodus 21:23-27, expresses a principle of retributive justice also known as lex talionis (Latin for "law of retaliation"). The basis of this form of law is the principle of proportionate punishment, often expressed under the motto "Let the punishment fit the crime", which particularly applies to mirror punishments (which may or may not be proportional). At the root of the non-biblical form of this principle is the belief that one of the purposes of the law is to provide retaliation for an offended party. This early belief is reflected in the code of Hammurabi and in the laws of the Old Testament (e.g., Exodus 21:23-25. Leviticus 24:18-20, Deuteronomy 19:21).

Anyway, George Bush isn't even close to being Jesus. We are only human and God has given us the ability to think for ourselves.

Bush was elected the first time because he is honest and he was not afraid to protect our nation. We had just gone through 8 years of criminal activity spanning the spectrum from rape, to impeachment. There was always a law suit, a scandal, or something. It was awful. This country will need decades to recover from the clintons.

We went to Iraq because it was within our rights. We didn't go alone and Both sides of congress voted for it. Even that buffoon clinton recognized the danger of Saddam. The UN and every other nation also saw the same evidence. Some just took the opportunity to go on Saddam's payroll to keep the heat off. France, Russian, the UN, and Germany.

Too late,

Dont mix politics and religin.

They have no business being in the same sentence.

Bush is looking to protect the American People. This unfortunately means taking up arms against others. If he did not he would be judged by everyone for that. Weather or not you agree, he invaded IRAQ becasue he and congress felt it was the best move. I didn;t agree then as a MARINE and I do not now as a civilian. While I would have gone if asked, I would not have liked it. All we can do in America is voice our opinion and hope it is heard. Majority rules and I think (although I know someoene will correct me) that the majority agreed with the initial decision to invade IRAQ.

When lokking for a president, i don't think people look for jesus types, there was one jesus, and i don't think you can expect anyone to be just like him. I believe a president is chosen because of his leading abilities and how well he can keep a country safe and running well. I don't think in any way that Al Gore could have done a better job than Bush, so by process of elimination he is the best choice. and the guy named tough as hell is an idiot, suggesting that republicans killed jesus.

I am a christian, and I do not care if a person is a registered democrat or republican. However, I do not understand how anyone can be a born-again christian and not vote against those who support abortion, the taking of an innocent life. Would Jesus support abortion?

Jesus.. gave...instructions to "Christians" basically on a one to one level..."we" are to love one another as Christ loved us, and died for our sins." We are to be humble, charitable, not placing so much value on material things...things of this world. We are to obey the laws of our land, be good citizens, parents, friends, neighbors, go into all the World, and teach/preach the gospel..Jesus gave this direct mission to us..the gentiles. I believe God gave us..this great nation, and has blessed us so abundutly, because we have obeyed his word...Missionaries from the USA have carried the word of God...all over the world. We have given so much to other countries..in aid money, medicines, etc...because we know that we are a blessed nation/people, and God expects us to share it...spread it..as best we can.

I believe we are to do whatever is necessary to prevent any group, country, organization from trying to destroy our freedoms. I expect that Jesus would want us to stand up against anyone who would want to take away our right to worship him?

There are religion's that are not tolerate of other faiths, beliefs...Islam teaches..convert or kill all infidels..too many of Islamic believers resort to violence in order to gain control over others.

God has commanded us to fight evil.
The Jews are God's chosen people...God has clearly stated..that He will curse those who curse thee(Jews) and will bless those who bless thee.

Israel has a right to exist and live in peace..and these militant muslims..do not want peace..they want Israel ...destroyed. Should we stand by and allow this to happen? or should we stand with God's chosen people?

I am sure remember reading about the story in the bible...Jesus was angry and ran the money changers out of the temple.

This is frankly a well prosed and well thought out question. I am not a Bush 'follower' because supporter just isn't the right word. Your humility as a Christian shines through, but this is because you are obviously a true believer and not one that believes as a means to an end. Thank you for pricking the conscience of supposed conservative followers and followers of mass murder and deception.

I love your idealism but that is not the way of the world.
Pat Robertson claims to be a christian but has suggested that we go down to Venezuela and assassinate president Hugo Chavez. Would I be wrong to judge Robertson, that he is not a really a christian to make statements like this? How could I tell who the christian candidate really was? What if he stood up at the pulpit and told me about his religious conversion and about how he gave up drinking?
The best thing for you honey, is just to put your faith in God and leave politics to the rest of us. The meek shall inherit the earth.
God Bless You!

I support Bush. Surely you can't expect him to be perfect, like Christ. Although, I can see where some people disagree with him.

By your reasoning, we were wrong to declare war on Germany and Japan during World War II. Are you willing to say that we should allow absolute fanatics to destroy the United States? If everyone were like-minded, we could all live in harmony. The fact is that there are people who hate us, and hate Christ. We are human, and we are sinful. But we must not allow these animals to destroy us, at any cost. Christ didn't enlighten us, and save us, so that we could be uselessly whiped out by screaming zealots. He wants us to endure.

There are some things that you don't understand.

Jesus wasn't a partisan. God did establish leaders of nations to protect their people. Basically, you are saying that the government for the people is to not protect and defend the innocent.

Who are the innocent? Those that have a christian tolerance, or those that are islamofascists that seek to force religion?

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God.
Rom 13:2 Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.
Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same:
Rom 13:4 for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil.

So, you tell me, what is the purpose of government and would God want freedom for people or tyranny?
