All created things have a beginning... that is to say, all things of a natural existance have a beginning. Whether it is the computer you're typing on, the orange you ate for lunch, the seconds of time ticking away as you read this, or the red dwarf billions of lightyears away... it is all 'natural', and hence, had a beginning, and was created.
God is outside of the realm of time (as it is His creation as well), and therefore was 'before the beginning of natural things', and has no beginning, and hence, was not created... but rather, is the Creator.

To add a little to what has already been said, we can identify everything in the material world that is perceivable by the senses as energy. Technically maya-sakti in Vedic terminology. Then there is consciousness. Consciousness is of a different nature than the material energy, but it is still energy. Consciousness is the symptom of the spirit soul -- the living being. This is known as jiva sakti. The nature of energy is that it is not independent. Energy has a source and is dependent on that source. On the other hand, the energetic, the source of all energy is independent. God, the Supreme Lord, is completely independent, being the source of all emanations, all energy, both spiritual and material. So He has no source -- He is.
This concept is not easy to grasp for us because we are conditioned to think of everything has having a source or a beginning. And this is because we have always just been acquainted with energy. When we meet the energetic source of all energy, then we can know the meaning of complete independence and know His existence beyond any other source.

it depends on your concept of the god. if you follow the church dogma, then your god is a infinitive being which simply is or it is existence in itself. in other words, imagine a rock, it has three dimensions, it is defined by space and time, and - which is the most important part - it IS. Thus, you can deem Existence as a kind of dimension or something. That given, it is easy to conclude that God must be that which simply is or is a framework for everything that is.
Therefore, no one created God, because for someone to create God that has to be, which by itself presupposes existence.
However, you can see that this argument is false, since it contains logical mistake of begging the question.

you have to start somewhere. there always has to be a first person and that was God. God made everything-plus God is not like us (human) so does he have to be made?
