Hi,
Had my rear plastic bumper gouged and scraped by somebody in a parking lot. So I got out the sand-paper and got rid of most of the blemishes. The problem now is that the sanded area is lighter than the surrounding area.
Is there any way to do a color match without painting? By the way, I noticed that the original area is slightly textured.
Thanks for any help!
Fred

If the plastic itself is coloured (and not painted) then Car Plan do something called Exterior Coloured Trim Polish (or something like that), it's a red container and costs about £5. It's a white liquid that you scrub on and it just brings the colour back to the original colour, I'm not sure if it works the same way as polish, burning off the top layer of colour as you have to (annoyingly!) re apply it every so often.

Yes, today there many plastic bumper repair people who do carry different patters to match. Just call a dealer like an import car dealership ans ask them for a referal for a bumper repair person.

go to kragen or napa, they have color match pens, they come in manufactuer colors, like ford red or chevy blue. as for the texture, i think ure best be is to take 36 grit sandpaper and scuff it up. personally, id ask a body shop, because i don't know what the tesxture looks like. good luck.
